A mixed age class comprising Years 3, 4, 5 & 6.
The first half of the summer term has been a busy one!
Upper Key stage 2 had a great day at the Kestle Barton Literacy Festival where they met several authors.
On the last day of the half term, we joined St. Keverne and Manaccan for Holi Day. This was, once again, a great day and the children went home covered in colour.
This term in History, the children have been learning about the Cornish mining industry. So far, they have learnt about the importance of Cornwall in the Bronze Age as one of the few places that had tin deposits in Western Europe. Also, they have learned about the significant person Richard Trevithick and the importance of high-pressure steam.
We have recently started a Science unit on ‘Evolution & Inheritance’. The children had a great discussion working out which of their parents they had inherited their eye/hair colour from. This unit will continue after the half term break.
There are lots of exciting things happening in the second-half term including both Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 camps. Watch out for updates!
A vey proud class teacher,
