In Primrose class we have a mix of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children.
This term we are learning about ‘The Great Outdoors’ with a focus on Mary Anning, Dinosaurs, Plants and our local area.
In History we will be learning about Mary Anning; including her life and her fossil hunting! In Geography we will be focusing on our local area. We will be studying maps of Coverack and identifying different areas.
In Art and Design we are going to be doing some artwork linked to dinosaurs using a range of different materials. We are going to be painting dinosaur silhouettes and our own making fossils.
In Science we are learning about Plants. Within this unit we will be planting our own seeds and watching them grow, learning the parts of plants and dissecting seeds.
In RE this term we are exploring the questions; What is the ‘good news’ Christians believe Jesus brings? And, What makes some places sacred to believers?
In English we will be using Read, Write, Inc for our phonics, spelling and comprehension lessons. We are currently basing our English around the ‘Magic Finger’ by Roald Dahl.
